The Polo family from West Virginia can not their camera when they want to go
on vacation. It should be on the front of the third shelf of the linen closet.
They also have problems with socks getting lost in the washing. After their
vacation, they find the missing camera right where it should have been all
along.
They have the old pictures in their camera developed. Instead of getting
their Christmas pictures, they got someone's party pictures. When they go
the photographic store in search of their own pictures, the whole family
ends up in the Land of Oz. They go through many adventures trying to find
their way home and getting back their own photographs. Along the way, they
also find out what happended to their missing socks.
Of course they get to meet many of the cellaberties of Oz such as Dorothy,
Toto, the Wizard, the Hungry Tiger, the Cowardly Lion, Ozma, Betsy Bobbin,
the Tin Woodman, Glinda, and many more. The Polos recognizes some of these
people as being in the party pictures that don't belong to them. They get
into trouble and manage to get others into trouble with them, including
Dorothy, Betsy, and otheres that were just trying to help them get home.
How do the Polos get to the Land of Oz? How do the Polos get out of their trouble and get back to West Virginia? Will everyone get out of the troubles caused by the Polos? Do they find their missing pictures? Will they get back home and by what method? You will have to read the book to find out the answers to these questions.
