| John lived with his grandmother until age 7. He lived for 16 years at Ashland, Oregon. Was educated at Ashland High School (now State Normal). He taught school for a while, clerked and was in business for himself at Tacoma, Washington in 1884. He was in the real estate business and served at different locations. On October 1, 1900 he was appointed Lighthouse Keeper at Tatoosh, Washington and was there until 1908. In 1910 he went to Kent, Washington. |
