| YIKES. Dufour was swept by a very strong team led by new daddy Whitey. Defensively, Dufour played very solid highlighted by some circus catches by Nopy and at least a third rung climb-of-the-ladder stab by Paul on third. A couple of nice double play balls turned by Reider were also thrown in the mix. In the outfield, newbie Bobby filled in nicely for Jules (who chose his wife over ball not a bad choice, pretty sure nobody on the team except for Dave gives him what his wife does). In the future please schedule Parkdale Pub on Angs special day. Kudos to Darryl for staying in the game as long as he did. With his one-month old marriage on the line, he risked 4-day absence sex by being a tad late on an airport pick-up. If there was an award for such behaviour, youd be sitting at the head table for the ceremony At the plate, Dufour was not as solid. In fact, it was the lack of offensive production that ultimately led to the sweep. The exception was the bottom trio of the two Daves and Dobber. They constantly put the top of the order in a position to score runs, but time and again the top failed to deliver. Good job bottom. After searching the archives, it was determined that the last time Dufour was swept was on opening day of the 2001 season (Tuesday, May 24, an overcast day with a high temperature of 14) at the hands of the Scramblers. It is interesting to note that the team rebounded nicely and finished with a record of 24-4. Adrian Morgan profoundly noted last night that the days of finishing the regular season with very little ticks in the loss column (2002 2 losses, 2003 4 losses) are long gone. Although Nopy has a point, it would be nice to prove him wrong #43 out. |
