For the third straight game, Dufour was short-staffed, even having to enlist the services of a guy named Doug, or Doog, or Dooger.  Word must be spreading that Dufour is not fielding a full team as hopeful applicants were approaching the squad after the game, trying to secure a spot with the successful franchise.  Dufour would have nothing to do with any of these wannabes and is confident the numbers will come in future games.  All-star catcher Marcattili has yet to rear his balding head this year, and Married Maunder has seen limited action.  Kudos to Paul Flemming for opening his store a bit late on a sunny Saturday just to play a few innings of ball.  That attitude will only secure your spot in Dufour Softball Hall of Fame.  The striking Aliant employees show up, but either cause heated arguments or leave early to secure strike pay.  Those Aliant managers sure deserve all the credit in the world for putting in the overtime to cover the work for the striking employeesjust kidding Al.  Oh, by the way Dave and Leanne are moving to Glen Arbour and are putting in an Olympic size swimming pool

The gamewell the teams in the league sure have improved over the winter.  It is too early to assess Dufours ability as it has yet to field a full team.  Hard to judge with only 3 outfielders and at times only 4 infielders.  Dufour held on as long as it could, but eventually chalked up its first tick in the loss column.  Fairview (aka Chuckies boys) is a much improved Lighting Source team.  Theyve got a few meatballers and some guys that can play in the field (damn #43 was robbed in right).

We have yet to see the true potential of the 2004 edition of team Dufour.  Hopefully we wont have to wait much longer

#43 out.
