G A M E S U M M A R Y Versus: STEEL KINGS Thursday, June 19 - Rained Out Made up on Saturday, July 26
GAME #1 DUFOUR: 16 STEEL KINGS: 12
GAME #2 DUFOUR: 16 STEEL KINGS: 6
A sunny Saturday morning proved to be a good backdrop for Dufour. However, in the first game things did not look all that bright. Down 7 runs at one point to the Steel Kings (due mostly to the fine pitching of the human PEZ tm dispenser), Dufour showed much character in climbing back into the game, and eventually winning it. With the momentum out of their sails, Dufour easily beat the Steel Kings in the second game. Due to injuries, big Dobber had to move out to right centre field. He made some good catches, got the ball in quick, and according to the right fielder, dove for balls like Heather was pushing him off the couch. Unfortunately, big #27 was unable to participate in the post-game festivities as Home Depot was having a sale on bed spreads and curtain fabric. Not much else to report. Dufour played solid in the field highlighted by a fantastic diving snag by Nopy at short, and a 20-inch vertical leap by Alex to make the catch on third. One other great play was the strike thrown by Travis from right field to the plate, despite Dave shouting No! No! Please No! But even with his eyes closed and one leg kicked up, Dave caught the ball and made the tag. A nice finish. The streak remains intact. Lets keep er going on Tuesday #43 out.
