GAME #2

DUFOUR: 13 LIGHTING SOURCE:

The second half of this doubleheader was played on Saturday, August 16.

A bit of a kink in the armour perhaps?  With back to back losses, Dufour is showing the league that yes, they are human.  Gone are the hopes for the first-ever 30 win season.  Although this game was made up from a rain out, the loss essentially gives Lighting Source a sweep over Dufour something that has not happened in the regular season for over 3 seasons.  On the positive side, the bats returned for most of the squad, and the team produced 24 hits and 13 runs in just 7 innings (if only that guy who got up with two outs in the bottom of the 7th couldve gotten a hit).  On most nights, 13 runs is enough to win.  A big tip of the hat goes to Nopy, who for the first time in recent memory, has all of the hitting categories highlighted (and more importantly, an uncle who fetches balls better than my Labrador Retriever).

Dufour needs to string together a few wins to enter the playoffs on a positive note.  Will it be back to back, or back to jack?  Only time will tell

You gotta blame it on something, blame it on something. Blame it on the rain, yeah yeah, blame it on the rain, yeah yeah.  Well it had to end some time.  27 in a row is quite a run.  Whos idea was it to play last night anyway?  It took a very wet extra-inning loss to the Lighting Source to hault Dufours winning streak.  A few missed balls in the field, a lack of hit production and 3 big dingers from Tyrone (AGGGGGH) all contributed to the loss.  The second game was canceled due to wet field conditions.  This sounds like a broken record, but it must be said, Darryl Money Maunder continued his sizzling hitting streak going 3 for 4 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs.  One of his HRs was an in-the-parker, and rounding third the big man was panting like Welcher chasing after Nopy for a puff of his skinny.

Next week, the winning streak starts again.  Lets get to 30 this time!  Lastly, Clancey, Travis and Dave are all tied with one (1) homerun each.

#43 out.
