G A M E S U M M A R Y Versus: COPPER PENNY Tuesday, May 20
GAME #1 DUFOUR: 11 COPPER PENNY: 10
GAME #2 DUFOUR: 24 COPPER PENNY: 7
Well Dufour started as they left off last year, on a winning note. Copper Penny, despite adding MR. Sal Del Ray (complete with extra Bling Bling), was victim #1 as Dufour swept the season opening series. The first game was a bit of a squeaker, and had some team members wondering if the 23 game-winning streak would come to an end. But Dufour prevailed and squeaked out an 11-10 victory, followed by a 19-7 convincing win in the second game. Fine performances were turned in by Munden, 4 for 5, and Junior with 6 RBIs and a dinger (tied for first in HR race) and really the entire top 4 of the lineup hit extremely well. Then came #5 and #6. The rest of the team also hit well for the first game of the season. Good to get the kinks out early. In the field, not many mistakes were made, except for a few mental ones (#20). Rookie sensation Randy McNeil proved his years of training in the minors were well worth it as he played stellar in the field and went 3 for 5 at the plate. This guy just might have a future in slob ball. Expecting baby #2, Paul Flemming mustve been thinking about the bundle of joy scheduled to arrive on Friday, because he had an un-Paul like night at the plate. Paul take a few days off to enjoy the new addition. In your absence Randy will pick up the slack. Take as much time as you need. Seriously, all the best to you and Sandy. Good work on the sweep boys. Next week, two double headers #43 out
