G A M E S U M M A R Y Versus: TWIN CITIES Tuesday, July 2
GAME #1 DUFOUR: 15 TWIN CITIES: 6
GAME #2 DUFOUR: 18 TWIN CITIES: 1
Generally an easy-going night at the park for Dufour as they picked up their 11th and 12th wins of the campaign. At the all-star break we have seen everyone once, and minus hiccups against the Steel Kings and the Scramblers the record is unblemished. Some noticeable absences from the lineup for this twin-bill were as follows. Tom Dobson continues to be overwhelmed by a three beer hangover from a bash the evening before the game. Colin Piccott opted only to play co-ed this year where he found a place to hit over 400 and in the park grounders. And Scott Travis was tied up in some sort of family crisis or something (News and Notes). Without some of these key players the bats remained hot and the defense was generally strong. Danny "pipes" Munden took a piece out of the Mainland Commons going long to the longest part. High fives were given by all but one...his father, who insists that it was a lucky blow in a big wind. I think not Ern!!! Dave squared each got a hit....way to go guys!! Scotty W. threw a one run gem in the second, and went a very nice 4 for 5 on the eve. Let's not omit the fiasco of a run down that concluded without an out, and still has spectators wondering how nine grey shirts hoarded one particular play.. Excellent first half, but no rest for the wicked....big bats of the penney next. Clance out!
