GAME #2

DUFOUR:
28   PARKDALE PUB:  8
At the risk of having our star centerfielder's head swell to huge proportions I think the best place to start off would have to be Dufour's team slugging on this evening.  As a team the boys jacked 6, stepped on the plate 46 times, and batted .650.  I think it's safe to say that these numbers will net you two victories any day of the week, and that's exactly what they did.  Call-ups were made in the off-season by Simon and his boys, and the new look Parkdale Pub appear very impressive on paper, and carry some heavy bats.  Unfortunately for Parkdale their opponents held the big sticks on this chilly night, and when it was all said and done the one time Timberlea Tavern boys threw in the towel, and literally begged for mercy in the second game.
Defensively, no real gems, but no blunder's large enough to switch the tide of either of these games.  Alex Stuart with a great warning track grab in the first, and the strike to third by Nopy nailing an overzealous runner, and generally some steady play in the field enabled our bats to shine and produce two more victories.
High fives to J.R. who continues to force his way through a nagging knee injury and certainly didn't seem out of place.  At the plate Nopy, Darryl, Alex, and Wog deserve some recognition.  And as a team pat yourselves on the back because Dufour looks good and this could be the year.....whatever!
Overheard at the game...
..."Take Clance out of 4 Jr, c'mon I'm on fire"  By the way perfect at the plate, two jacks and 11 RBI's for those who were wondering.
..."It's the balls, has to be the balls, this isn't right"..statsman Jim on the unusual number of balls leaving the mainland commons this season.
.."Christ I'm fast"...Dobber on his first game ever with spikes
..."We'll get ya next time Jr."  overheard by all and I say.................Bring it!!!!
