G A M E S U M M A R Y Versus: EAST SIDE Tuesday, August 7
GAME #1 DUFOUR: 7 EAST SIDE: 2
GAME #2 DUFOUR: 16 EAST SIDE: 7
Special Guest Columnist 1B and #4 hitter Ryan Clancey Chalk up another deuce in the "w" column for Dufour. This time against the pesky power hitters of East Side. Unfortunately for Simon and the boys there wasn't a hole to be had in the seams of the Dufour defence. Ten shut out innings, and arguably one of the best defensive efforts in past years was easily the highlight of this Tuesday evening. 24 and 4 is not only in sight, but very attainable with a couple of more efforts like last night. Noteable game notes are plentiful. A couple of pitching gems from starting rotation pitchers Munden and Weatherston is a good place to start. The highlight reel defensively is full to the max, capped by a diving Dufour catch that left Ray with only a head to shake. And lastly a strong night at the plate by all made these two wins extremely sweet. It's safe to say the league championship is back in good hands barring any tragedies in the following couple of weeks. Interestingly enough Simon was overheard telling Jr he's not quite sure where he last placed the league trophy. #10 says keep it! Dufour is ready for the elusive playoff title that has seemed to have plagued the boys in years past...that I will take with a smile.
