| The boys remain undefeated in their new unis! A huge offensive explosion in the first game highlighted by a stretch of 5 innings where the Dufour squad scored 4 runs in the first and 5 runs in each inning after. The bats cooled off a wee bit in the second game and Dufour actually trailed by as much as 6 runs at one point in the game. Ahhh but if you were a betting man, I�d keep my money riding on the grey and black � and you�d win! Couple of game notes: Jamie Reid hit for the cycle in the first game (single, double, triple, homerun) � he is the first player to accomplish this feat this year. This is especially noteable since Reid rarely hits to the left side of the field, but he connected with one and sailed it over the fence for his first-ever out-of-the-parker HR. Reid�s dad was seen lurking in the bushes to find the ball to have it mounted on the Reid family hall of fame. A date for the homerun party has not yet been set. You guys thought Reid USED to be psyched!!! Also, Alex Stuart had what very well could�ve been a game-saving catch to preserve the winning streak. Alex made an incredible running shoe-string catch in centre field, then rifled the ball to second to make the unassisted double-play to end a potentially dangerous inning. Alex also had a great night at the plate going 6 for 7 with 4 runs scored, 1 homerun and 6 RBIs. The goal of 24-4 is still very much alive. First place, as we all know, is critical come playoff weekend. Let�s keep the drive alive! The date with Simon�s team is looming large. You can bet he�ll have all his big boys out to that one to try to erase the shear embarrassment of the last meeting. One thing to say to Simon: I don�t think he�s ready for our jelly!!! |
