| G A M E S U M M A R Y Versus: SCRAMBLERS Monday, July 9 |
| GAME #1 DUFOUR: 8 SCRAMBLERS: 3 |
| GAME #2 DUFOUR: 12 SCRAMBLERS: 13 |
| Another sweep. Wait a minute, that wasn't a sweep! That just goes to prove that you can't go through the motions and just expect to have success. Dufour may have been guilty of that in the second game of this double dip. And the Scramblers may have been guilty of corking up their bats - but homeruns certainly didn't win this game for them. Maybe a loss at this point in the schedule is a good thing. Perhaps the confidence needed a bit of a shake to prove that Dufour really can be beaten. Only time will tell. For the second time this year, sophmore centre-fielder Darryl Maunder came up lame and had to assume third-base coaching duties for the remainder of the game. Again he didn't take off his cleats like a good Bridgeveiw Boy (put 'er there, toughguy). Alex made some great catches in the outfield and Jules almost had the circus catch of the year - and he almost had a bloody nose (Marcatilli was hoping....). Got to give props to Scramblers, they are a good, hard-hitting team. A quick foot on first, some missed grounders probably didn't mean much to the outcome. This would be a tough team to sweep. But 11 wins in a row is a great accomplishment and it's something that the team should be very proud of. Let's start a new streak come Monday.
