| 1. Self Test: This one requires absolutely no knowledge of TI-83 programming. Here are the steps: 1.Press MODE 2.Press APLHA, S 3.Press enter 4.Place your friend's calculator back on his/her desk 5.Wait for them to return and be totally confused!!!!! 2. Calculator Screw Up: For this to work, you need a few minutes to program: :Lbl AA :Input "",A :randint(1,5)->B :A/2-B->A :round(A,0)->A :Disp A :Goto AA EFFECT: The calculator will take problems (2+2.....etc.) and give answers that are totally off! 3. Mirage OS As you probably assumed, you will need the Mirage OS filing system to pull this one off. 1. Open Mirage (Here's what to do if they have it password protected) a) Open the memory bank. b) Delete the file Mirage OS (THE FILE THAT YOU NEED TO DELETE IS ONLY 42 BYTES LARGE! DO NOT DELETE THE ACTUAL FILING SYSTEM!) c) Go back and open Mirage 2. Once Mirage is open, press Alpha to open the options menu. (If it is password protected, follow the same steps above.) 3. Open the password editor and create a new password 4. Under password options, select all of the options 5. Go under all of the menus until you find the APPS/ON option, and select it. 6. Exit all options menus and press on while you are in Mirage ' It should blink and then ask you for the password. Enter in an incorrect password and it will shut off. Now whenever your friend turns on his/her calculator it will turn right back off! |
