ABOUT POETRY:

Even though I write in different genre's, poetry is my favorite way to speak.  I am moved by my own life as well as others, but one never knows from which well have I drawn...

There are many famous poets, none of whom do I claim to be like.  I love the intensity of Carl Sandburg; the sensitivity of Emily Dickenson; the honesty of David Frost.  If one studied these poets, they would understand exactly what they are saying.  This is simplicity.

I have read many overly long poems, worked over and bled into, by a poet who loves his words...obvious by his over indulgence on the page.
Seldom do those poets hold my attention.  Perhaps that is why I prefer to keep my poetry short and concise.  I would rather have a friend for a short while than hold anyone captive with my words.

I will remain blocked, unable to string two lines together, for a period of time, to be freed like water cascading through a mill race.  The quest is over, now the words jump onto the page.  Such a rebirth is the reason I don't write novels.  Writing a poem is a process of self examination, no matter if myself or someone else has inspired me to creative bliss.

Just a few things I wanted to share here....
