Introduction

Jing Ling Institute of neuroscience was founded by some famous Doctors and Acupuncture masters in 1920s and re-established in 1992 by a very pioneering, young surgeon Dr. Liu and his colleagues. Dr. Liu graduated from Nan Jing Medical University located at the ancient capital Nan jing P.R China in 1989, after graduation he served as a medical officer (resident) in Drum Tower hospital (founded in 1892), affiliated to faculty of Medicine (history) University of Nan Jing. Through more than 3 years of rotation in all of surgical departments, obtaining a large of clinical experience, he has been in the rank of specialist of this hospital since 1992, meantime also held a position in Nan Jing Chinese traditional hospital. Because obsessed by many unsolved problems, he began to do the research of molecular neurobiology and Gene therapy,  hoping to explain the mechanisms and pursue new treatment methods to those difficult diseases with multidisciplinary approaches. He joined HKUST for Ph.D. in 1993, and cooperated with Dr. Robert Holdefer (Assistant Prof. of Bio dept. in HKUST and a researcher in medical school of NWU now ), Dr. So KF and Henry Yip anatomy department of University of Hong Kong respectively from 1993 to 1995.  At that time, he proposed the molecular neuroscience concept, but this concept was criticized and objected by PG. committee members marine biology Prof. Fu-SHIANG CHIA (retired from Alberta U, Ca) and assistant. Prof. YH.Wong, now the associate director of BRI center of HKUST without any explanation,( the story in detail,   Dr. James Surmeier and Zhen yan did the same work in Tennessee U a little later ) his research was not supported also, that was one of  reasons why he decided to leave HKUST.   Dr. Liu attended in the Licentiate examination of LMCHK, which is equal to the combination of  MRCP(medicine and pediatric), FRCS(surgery and orthopedic), MRCOG as well as basic medical science, and got excellent scores and performance. Then he got MD. license and set up HK and Sengzeng network diagnosis center, which supplies DNA testing service to neurological diseases and has many partners (including famous neurological DNA Diagnosis Lab of MGH, Harvard medical school ). Dr. Liu very much emphasize IT application to biomedical area, with strong computer technology, he is one of earliest doctors who engaged in digital hospital, now more and more top graduates are joining his team at different area. Through several years of research work and continuous building,  he has developed extensive research projects and established good relationships with many very famous molecular neuroscience laboratories around world , this institute also being in progress rapidly.
