The Biography Of Pierce Butler

Pierce Butler born in 1744 in County Carlow in Ireland but like many 2nd born he could't own his father land and soon later pursued a career in the military field.
Pierce Butler earn the title of being as a British Major in the army in 1768 in the the Boston area.

1771 he married Mary Middleton, daughter of a wealthy South Carolinian, and before long resigned his commission (He resign his title in the British army) to take up a farming life in the Charleston area. Soon later they had a daughter (and few more later).
When the Revolution started, He helped the cause and later he got elected to the assembly in 1778, and the next year he served as general in South Carolina.
In his last years, he moved to Philadelphia to be near one of his daughters who had married a local physician. He died in Philadelphia in 1822 at the age of 77 and was buried in the yard of Christ Church.

Although he was a Federalist, he crossed party lines a few times (like he supported Hamilton's fiscal program (Have no idea)but opposed Jay's Treaty and Federalist judiciary and tariff measures.).
He often spoke of subjects about on slaves and their holders on how things should be done (slaves run away or something like that).
He was one of the first senators elected by South Carolina after the Constitution went under effect.
He was ones that really did sign the Constitution in the end.
