| The Texas Mission is an outreach program that is sponsored by my alma matter, Assumption College. I had the opportunity to go in 2000 with an amazing group from my school. This time I went by myself and although it was not as much fun (too many lonely nights) it was a very fulfilling and beautiful experience. The mission consisted of spending a week in a small community called Muniz near McAllen, TX. One spends all week with the kids (ages 3-16) doing various activities (but they all mostly want to play soccer!). The center that sponsors the activities is called ARISE. They are a group of women from the community trying to help the community. I am glad I was able to do it one more time. |
