AMMO LOADER V1.1 (for trueSpace 4.x)
Description:

Version 1.0 (26 Sep 00)
This script was written for the purpose of quickly animating bullets and laser beams from characters with guns or spacecraft/aircraft in flight. With one bullet/laser beam object loaded in the chamber of your models gun/cannon, a steady stream of ammunition can be animated over a spcified period of time. Motion is linear and delay times can be set between each shot. Bullet motion is along the +z-axis direction of your bullet and will travel in the direction the bullet is pointing toward in the specified frame (your model can be animated prior to running this script).

This is a GUI script. You need to have the GUI files loaded in the trueSpace root before you run this script.

Version 1.1 (22 Jan 01)
Added coding to standardize object scaling/position in meters. Users no longer need to manually set the object units to meters in the Object Info panel.

How to use this script:

There is some scene setup required before running this script.

  1. One object, the bullet, must be placed in the initial firing position and a child/sibling of your model.
  2. Apply any type of animation required by your model before running the script.
  3. The script should be loaded under "Scene" in the script manager.
  4. Select the bullet/laser which you want to simulate.
  5. Run the script and enter in the starting, ending frames, distance bullet will travel, time for bullet to travel that distance and delay between shots.
  6. Press "Ammo!" and watch your model send a stream of bullet throughout your scene.

FAQ:

Q: Bullet/laser does not move in the direction I want.
A: Check your bullets axis. The +Z axis should be pointing in the direction of inital bullet travel.

Q: The bullet stream does not follow the motion of the gun/ship.
A: Make sure the bullet is glued as a child/sibling of the gun/ship.
