Fun Stuff in Savannah

Ok, I know that the rest of this site is dedicated to my life and school (which is most of my life), but I do go out on the town every now and again.  I do enjoy drinkin' a few "cold poles" (long neck bottles) every now and then (like every night).  If I had the money, I would probably go out every night, but it gets to costing a lot.  So usually only go out like one night a week.  I am not a big "clubber" so I usually go to some laid back bar and drink with a few friends, although on occasion, I do throw back and party with the best of  'em.

Here is a list of places to visit if you ever come to Savannah.

Must see (or eat) places

B&D Burgers - A savannah only restaurant,  The best thing about B&D is that the beer is always buy one get one free.  YES FREE.  They have awesome food and have decent prices. (they also have a cheaper college student menu)  Thursday they have a live band, who is usually pretty good.  A great place to watch the game on the Plasma screen, and kick back and have a few beers after work.

Savannah Smiles - A dueling piano bar, (yeah, I know it sounds gay, but it's not) There are two pianos up on stage and they play popular songs, oldies, and comedy songs for a small donation, the beer flows like water, and for a decent price you can great time. P.S. if you go there, ask them to play the "pussy song"  It is the finniest song that I have ever heard.

O'Connell's Irish Pub - Just a hole in the wall place, but a cool place to go drink and hangout.  On the weekends they have some sort of band playing.  This is not such a good value, the beer is expensive, but worth the trip once in a while.

The Pirates House - Okay, this is the one that Black Beard used to frequent, if that isn't enough to make you visit this place, then I don't know what will.

Sluggers - Just your usual dingy sports bar, but they do have trivia, (yeah, kind of nerdy right) did I mention that you can win FREE BEER playing this nerdy game.  Otherwise, don't go, it's a waste of valuable time.

Ibiza - I am not really in to the club scene, but this one is OK.  Downstairs is a kind of chill place to sit and drink, although you have to listen to that shitty club techno music.  Upstairs, there is a tiki bar and dance floor.  This place has the loudest speaker system in Savannah I think.  One of the best things is that for $3 you can take a Jell-O shot off of the waitress's boobs!  I think that is why I like this place.  Cover charge is usually $10, but people are always handing out free passes,  so keep your eyes pealed.

Vinny Van Go-Go's - A true New York style pizzeria.  They have an extensive menu, and beer selection.  This is truly the best pizza in Savannah.  The prices are not that bad, but too much to frequent on a daily basis.

Bar Bar - A real cool place, it's free to get in, they have a dance floor (I have been known to "cut a rug" myself) they also have $1 beers (it's PBR) but none the less a decent crowd usually appears about 11pm.    So you may want to hit Savannah Smiles first to get some good laughs and some beer in you before you head to The Bar Bar.

Mellow Mushroom - My old roommates favorite place to eat.  They have 150 beers on tap, and good pizza.  The pizza is not quite as good as Vinny's, but it's a good place to go.  The prices are decent, but be careful about ordering special pizzas, because they cost more.  They also have a trivia night, but it's usually frequented by SCAD students.

Bells on the River - I have never actually eaten at this place, but I do go there for a few drinks on occasion. My roommate frequents this place a lot. The prices are not the best and the crowd is a little older, but it is a cool place to just chill and watch the game. It is usually quiet, except when they have a DJ or a live performer. The best thing is that it is only like 3 miles from my house, so it is easy to get there.

Pepino's - I used to eat at this place all of the time, but I have not been there quite as much now that they have move to the old mall. They always have soccer on which means that it is happy hour. $1 drafts on most beers, whuch is good, and cheap food thast taste good. Definitely want to check this out for at least one meal.

There are many other spots , I'll keep updating this list. so check back.
