| Details : | Jelutong is an opposition seat, held by DAP since 1978. Apart from the 1995 elections, the party has won the seat with comfortable margins.The electorate cuts across all social classes, comprising mainly lower-middle and middle income groups. It is essentially urban or semi-urban, with pockets of kampung areas. With the growing number of condominiums coming up over recent years to replace the ``rural'' areas and squatter houses, the demography is also changing. |
