| In August of 1988, two young sisters fooled their parents into getting a darling puppy. One sister told their Mommy that their Daddy said it was fine to get her. The other sister told her Daddy that Mommy had said it was ok. At first the parents were a little upset when they found out that neither one had said that the girls could have the puppy. Then, they saw the puppy. She was all legs with a terrier attitude. Who could resist? The puppy grew up into a scruffy, black and tan dog named Digit. The youngest sister taught Digit to be a "circus dog" and the older sister taught her how to "get". But the Mommy and Daddy taught her love and stability. As the years went by and the sisters grew up, Digit became the only baby in the house. She kept her Mommy and Daddy company even when she was sick from eating Chocolate covered Coffee Beans and having her spleen removed. One day, Mommy and Daddy realized that Digi had lost her spunk and didn't feel good at all anymore. The spring was gone from her step. Mommy, Daddy, and her two sisters said goodbye on March 14, 2004. They kissed her and told her what a good girl she was. They thanked her for her love and support and then they held her paw while she went night-night. Digit was 15. Digit bounded across Rainbow Bridge where she was welcomed by her fur sisters and brother, Sparky, DJ, Allie, Stevie and the youngest sister's fur son, Porter. Digit is now running and playing and is happy to have back her spunk. We love you, little Merry Sunshine! |
