Hogan set a new standard in Sports-Entertainment. He was the first wrestler to have entrance music and was the first wrestler to get mainsteam media coverage. He won his first WWE World Title from The Iron Sheik in January, 1984 at Madison Square garden in New York City. He also headlined the first WrestleMania a year later at the same venue. The biggest match of his carreer however, was against Andre The Giant at WrestleMania III. Where he lifted the big man into the air and drove him down into the mat!
The Hulkster was known as The Real American and that's exactly what he was! He was in the Main Event of each WrestleMania I-IX. He also won the WWE World Title a total of 4 times between 1989 and 1993. Everyone tried to stop him...no one could! Superstars like Undertaker, Macho Man, Earthquake, and The Million Dollar Man could do nothing to weaken Hulkamania.
"You fans can stick it!" It was with this phrase that the Hulkster became Hollywood Hulk Hogan at WCW's Bash At The Beach 1996. Hall, Nash and Hogan formed the New World Order. The NWO brought wrestling to hights of popularity that were never even dreamed of before. Hogan would go on to hold the WCW World Title 6 times, 5 of which were as the leader of the NWO. One question remained however, would the hulkster ever turn back to the Red & Yellow?!
Hogan came back to the WWE in February 2002 at WWE's No Way Out. Along with him he brought his friends...Hall & Nash! He surprised the world at WrestleMania X8 when he went One-on-One with The Rock and in the process left the NWO to return to the Red & Yellow. Within a matter of weeks he would go to WWE's Backlash and strip Triple H of the WWE World Title. This was Hogans 6th reign as champion. I'm sure it won't be his last...as long as there are Hulkamaniacs, the Hulkster will live forever!
