Prologue: Decisions

A panel of twenty men each took their respective seats in beautifully designed dark oak chairs. The long narrow desk that rested before each of them mirrored the look of the seats but shined even brighter as the dim orange lamps played across the sleek wood.

Before the panel of twenty stood a single man. His dark eyes sternly looked over each of the men while he continued to stand upright in perfect posture. The man was dressed in a dark blue fighting uniform. A faded bandana was tied tightly around his forehead; the majority of his hair was easily covering it up. To finish off his get up a large black bet rested around his waist and black boots on his feet. On the belt two large metal hand claws hung, along with two perfectly kept handguns.

The silence in the room was finally broken as one of the panel members spoke to the man, Gabriel, I believe it is time. As the man finished he rested his hands on the table and waited, along with the rest for a response.

Gabriel nodded slightly to the twenty men and said, Yes, perhaps the time has come. Gabriel released a sigh and continued, I just dont know if bringing another here will be safe.

None of us are certain. Another man spoke. But the Order of Salvation has made its decision. The boy needs to be brought here, he may be our only hope.

I understand. Gabriel replied. But to put so much faith in a person who is not even aware of the situation. I find that troubling, never the less I will bring him here.

Gabriel nodded to the group and began his way towards the exit of the room. Before he could reach the door another person spoke.

Dont pick this one up. The man said.

What? Gabriel asked while turning around in complete surprise.

We want to see what happens if he is set on his own. The man replied. We are sending one of our men to a small clearing just outside the town of Calgez. Send him there and all will begin.

With all due respect, do we have time for such a thing? Gabriel asked.

We all believe this may be the only way. Another man spoke.

Gabriel nodded his head a second time and continued out of the room. The large wooden door closed behind him, moments later he found himself standing outside of the Order of Salvations main headquarters.

The crisp air gently blew across his face as the sound of birds taking flight filled his ears. It certainly was a beautiful day but he refused to let the beauty of the moment distract him from the mission at hand.

The time has come. Gabriel muttered while looking up into the sky. Its time to bring another.
