Life at College: Update 2 (August 22, 2007 - Wednesday)

So, classes most definitely started today, and I got off to a rough start. Once I was prepared for my first class, I realized I didn't know any of the building/room s.

I totally freaked....

Then I hauled ass to Mr. Whitaker and got a print-out of my classes, the professors, and the room numbers and things were a bit easier. This was after my first class, which the only reason I knew where it was (Theory I) is because I attended a voluntary one at  band camp, so I guessed that is where it would be again, and it was.

Anyway - I think I will like my MWF (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) classes - they're alright. I'm not too fond of my algebra teacher right now, Mrs. Driggers, because she erases while she writes her notes, practically. It's very hard to keep up with her and she assigns massive quantities of homework every MWF.

I obviously haven't had a crack at me TR (Tuesday, Thursday) classes yet, but I will let you know how those go as well in my next Update.

----------------

BAND! - We finally started drill today! I was already tired coming onto the field because I have 10 minutes to get down to the field (about a mile or two from the school) from my Algebra class. - VERY TOUGH!

We've only learned the first three pages to our opener, "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic", but I can already tell it's going to be intense and a LOT of fun. I can't wait until we put on the closer - it's the loudest and most powerful piece of the three.

They had a street dance tonight, but I didn't go because I had a composition that I had to tweak and print off and I'm going to be giving it to my friends for a performance grade in my P.Lab class (Performance Lab) next Friday. It's a low brass trio (baritone, tenor trombone, and bass trombone), and I have two of the best trombone players in the school, in my opinion, so it's really going to be kick! I am using my "March of the Elven Slaves" song that I have now compressed into three moving bass instruments; very hard to do and keep more-or-less the same sound!

Well, I need to get to bed as I have some 8AM classes tomorrow. WHOHOO!!

I hope everyone is safe and is doing wonderful, because I know I am :) - I'm having a hell of a time, so don't worry..............mom.   :D
