Everything started on the fifth of February, year 1999, a mother gave birth for the second time. "It's a girl!" Then I came out of this world. My parents, Josephine and Paul Andres, gave me the name Jin Kershey. My mother loves Hersheys so much that she named me after it. I had a brother before me, Jomari, who was 3 years old when I was born. We live at a small house around Marikina City.
My first birthday was unforgettable. We had a very big pary at home that day. My mother's officemates, my uncles and aunts, and also ng godparents came. We played lots of games and enjoyed the rest of the day. I also got many gifts, toys and clothes, from everyone.
I was more of an indoor kid before. Both of my parents go to work everyday so my grandmother looks after us. She allowas us to go outside but only within our compound. No one could pass through the gate so I can only play with my cousins inside the compound.
I wanted to study early because I was jealous of my brother going to school before so I entered school when I was three. I studied at C.A. Santos Learning Center from nursery to kindergarten. But I was a crybaby back then. If I don't see my grandmother anywhere inside the room, I get scared so I cry. Luckily, it stopped when I entered prep at Gentle Angles School.
I had this friend named Rogeli. We we're always together around the school. We go around the school while waiting for our service tricycles to come and fetch us. I got the first place and she got the second place. I also remember we had a picture together on the graduation day.
I was first honor during nursery and third honor when I was on kindergarten. I have no idea how I became the valedictorian of the preparatory level. I'm so happy. I gave a speech infront of everyone. Our school principal guided me in reading the speech because I can't read some of the words well.
I studied at Sto. Nio Elementary School for six years. I was just a normal student before. A happy-go-lucky student. I started plaiyng with other kids then. They allowed us to go outside and play with other children. I play with them from the time I got home from school to dawn. I learned to go out with my friends at some far places I have never been to before. I learned to socialize and travel at that time.
I'm a proud section 1 student from grade 1 to grade 6. I was top 8 in our class in grade 3, top 7 in grade 4, and top 9 in grade 5. Sadly, I wasn't a part of the top ten students when we graduated but I'm still happy to graduate normally.
They said high school is the best year of our studies so I was really excited but nervous at the same time. It's a good thing I ended up with a great set of classmates. I enrolled for ESEP class. A special class having advance studies in other subjects. At first, we were still adjusting in our environment and how the teaching system goes. It was so hard to adjust because it was so different compared to how they teach us at grade school. We adoped it, little by little. Before, I sleep at exactly 8pm, but now, it ranges from 10pm to 12am. I know it will be harder when we go to collage. I just need to endure it for a little while.
Now, I'm at thrid year high school. Luckily, still on ESEP class. I survived the first two bloody years! I hope I can survive till the end. But I know it will be harder this year. The first month of school just passed by, but it already feels like a whole year of studying. But I know I can do it as long as my family and friends are here for me.
Days have been passing by so quickly. I think my autobiography ends here for now. More days to come!
