Lucky 13 takes "Momma Girl" in Cocoa!
The
circuit's youngest pro-girl, and my personal favorite took the "Mamma
Girl" at Cocoa Beach this weekend setting a new record for Youngest
Pro Girl winner ever! Zena "Lucky" Kim has only been surfing
for 3 months already puts out more showtime than most guys!
"More floatin' than a
log!"
Everyone
was amazed to see this 13 year old perform a wide range of slick moves.
Riding solid all day, she took over 50 rides scoring enormous with all
the judges. This kid took everyone for a ride in back in time riding her
7 foot Ronjon's board, at 90 pounds, Lucky got more floatation than a
canoe- "This girl has more floatin' than a log" shouts an opponent's
coach!
"Long sweet rides from
over there to over there.."
In
deed Lucky rode from one side of the beach to the other side of the Pier
making it almost impossible to take your eyes off her. Lucky pulled slow
controlled turns
riding elegantly all day long. Her Manager Steven Trontin explains "She
knows what she's doing- Pulls long sweet rides from all the way over there,
then ends-up all the way over there!" Lucky was having no problem
catching waves sometimes bumping guys off waves calling them out from
behind!
This was
another team sweep as the "Jon'ny J Surf Team" took both the
men's championship when Dandy Jiles ripped solid on his Quiet Flight taking
more than 40 rides! Lucky's excellent rips got her the woman's championship
making this sweep #40 all time sweep by members of the same team on the
ACME Surf circuit! Congrats Jon'ny!
"This girl knows what
she's doing!"
Lucky
winning her very first event came as a surprise to everyone, even the
team's manager, Seven Trontin didn't expect a win on her first outing.
Surfing for Ronjon's Surf Shop since April, "Lucky always enjoyed
watching surfing on the deuce (ESPN2) and I guess that helped her assimilate
faster out there. I mean this girl knows what she's doing! She's catching
tons of rides today man!" Trontin ads. He feels confident with the
right coaching and a positive attitude, she could be the next Due Shwantz!
I have
to agree. She could be the next Shwantz considering she's so smooth and
even exotic looking! I assume that's never gonna hurt her with the judges.
"She's pretty and amicable loved by all her peers" says Trontin.
And so she was at the press conference smiling through the hour long Q&A
as she did the entire day, Lucky mad a lot of fans today.
"Even the pier couldn't
stop Lucky 13!"
Watch-out
for this girl! We're seeing a champ in the making. Lucky has a style that's
truly artistic. She took rides this weekend even the pier couldn't stop!
