As you can see from the screencapture I
did there is a lot of stuff you can do
on a blog or journal. Just the freedom
of writing makes the whole thing worth it.
For the most part all blogs follow a general format.
I'm going to cite the image starting at
the top and going down just touching on
the important things...
The Header (Which advertises the site's name)
Optional Menu Bar (for better entry organization and reader friendly features)
Main Image (What ever pic is impotant to you)
The Calender (shows when entries were made)
The Side Bar (Gives links to friends' blogs and fun sites)
The Journal Itself (All your entries)
Though many blog software programs are user
friendly the presentation or theme varies
heavily. There are so many styles out there
You literally have to spend days hunting down
the layout you want to customize.
When you're ready to make the blog match your personal
style and you get bold enough you can attempt playing around
with the CSS (cascading style sheets) which is the coding
sheets to the theme. These allow you to change anything
on the site. Though they appear similar to HTML most style
sheets are written in a very user friendly computer code called PHP.
Cascading Style Sheets are used in theming or skinning
as it is better known almost all aspects of site plugins
such as image galleries, libraries, forums and blogs.
