This is my '82 Fender Stratocaster. I bought
it used in 1986 in Red Bank NJ for $450.00. It has the S9xxxxx serial
number but was assembled on Jan 2, 1982 based on the stamp in the neck
pocket. It has the 3 bolt plate but never slips. The bridge
pickup was a stacked humbucker but I replaced all 3 with a set of Texas
Specials. It resulted in more output but no major change in tone.
I had the frets filed and it came out nicely. The thick clear finish
is chipping in some areas and it came with a sweat mark where the right
forearm contacts the body.
