1966 Harmony 415 Amp
$60 Flea Market find

During a day at the Englishtown, NJ flea market I spotted this baby.  I had been thinking about building a 2 x el84 amp with a simple tremolo.
It came with 2 original Jensen c12r speakers date coded as late 1966.  All parts are coded late 1966 also.  The "can" filter capacitor had leaked
so I did not power it up until replacing it.  I also changed all of the coupling caps and most resistors.  I rewires the heaters in twisted pairs with
a pot to balance any heater hum. I added 2 speaker jacks to allow for the use of one 8 ohm extension cab + one internal 8 ohm Jensen when
desired.  Adjustable cathode bias from 100-150 ohms replaced the stock  130 ohm resistor.  "Death cap" was removed and a safe 3 prong
cord was installed.  Preamps were re-wired with (channel 1) -1500 ohm + 25u cathode, and (channel 2) --1500 ohm + no bypass cap.  Tremolo
jack was rewired to turn "on" the trem instead of turning it "off" when grounded.  I also changed a .022 trem cap to .01 to speed up the range of the modulation.  This is "bias modulation" trem and uses only one gain stage and no "roach."  All tubes were original and made in Japan.
New Electro Harmonics 12ax7EH preamp tubes and new JJ brand el84 power tubes.  New 6au trem tube.

Tone is great with ch 1 breaking up around 4 and ch 2 around 8.   I may add a 1u bypass cap to the last preamp stage for some more
high end.
