Comments by Ace of Base

I wrote this song on the day I was coming home from the Canary Islands at the New Year of 1994. I had been there with five of my closest friends and had a great week. In the lobby of the hotel this melody and lyrics suddenly were in my head. It really felt like the ultimate climax to the week of how life should be at its best. I asked my friend John Ballard to complete the lyrics with me and this production and mix was the first to be done on this album.

My opinion

When I bought this album, in the winter of 1995, it was probably only because of this song. It is in a way easy, as the most or all of AOB's titles. But this easiness is not profound. Behind the “simple” melodies there is an instincive arrangement, supported by a well-chosen group of instruments. Ace of Base's songs could be boring, if there wasn't this “instinctive design” directly touching your emotion. As I think, the extraondinary good and also talented voices of Jenny and Linn give this quality a kind of perfection. This song especially lives from it's groovy rhythm and of course of the melody. In this case it is the simplicity of the theme, that makes you feel the beauty of life, which is just present without any glimmer, seems to me like a reflexion. A reflexion or situation, that touches your heart creates the best songs you can hear. Here the motive is so clear and easy, that there aren't not much ways, which would describe it better.
