Jennifer's Other Memoir
I will never forget the day I met Alex. My friend and I were in the hallway in my Junior High School,I.S.59, when she pionted
him out to me. This was in 1995.
" Jenny, look over there." she said in an excited voice.
I turned around slowly, then I saw this handsome little boy
in some light blue jeans and a plaided shirt standing all by himself.
" Damn! He is a cutie! You go out with him? "
" No, not yet anyway. I'm working on it though! "
She seemed very excited about being with him and I was happy for her. But there was something about him that I wanted very bad. In time I started to have a crush, then the little crush
grew into this intense deep love that I would never experience in my whole intire life.
If I sat down and wrote about our 4 year on and off relationship, I'd be writing forever. What I can summarize is that Alex Ballard was my first love that I will never forget. He
taught me things about feelings that changed my life forever. But
he also taught me about abuse and shattered dreams and life threatening situations that I have learned lessons from. He put me through things that I always said I'd never be in. I cant really talk about it, but what I can say is that when we are in love we never see the truth. But when we are out of love, all we see is truth.
