Jennifer, on meeting Jamie:

Before Jamie and I got laid-off from work and finished college, I first noticed him after an union meeting in the parking lot. It was a hot summer day and before getting into his car, he took off his shirt - wow, what a bod! But I thought he looked a little young. We were working at different factory locations too at the time; however, six months later I was still wondering about him.
I eventually got bumped over to the same factory, same shift, and same area that Jamie worked. I found out what his name was and I thought it was the sexist name I have ever heard. Hmm, "Jennifer Dutcher" has a ring to it I thought! I knew I was going to marry him, so I was hoping he was nice! (Hee hee)
Although we didn't really talk to each other, I loved his laugh and thought he was FINE. I was really apprehensive about pursuing Jamie though because of our four-year age difference. (He loves reminding me that when I was a senior in high school, he was a 7th grader. Uew!)
Then one day the guys in the back room where Jamie worked started singing the song "8675309...Jenny I have your number..." They were teasing him because they knew he liked me, but I was clueless. I finally gave him a note asking him for a date. The phone number I wrote down was "867-5309." I also wrote just kidding and gave him my real number. The next day Jamie used it and we've been together ever since!

Jamie, on meeting Jennifer:
My friend Dave came to pick me up for lunch one day at work. Jen was pretty new and I hadn't seen her yet. Dave asked who the hottie was. I told him there weren't any hot chics at work. He said yah there was and she drives that car.
Jen and I remember the first time we saw each other. Our eyes locked in a stare and neither one of us could look away. That has never happened to me before. Jen said it was like time stood still.
I thought she was cute, but one girl told me that Jen wouldn't go out with me because Jen thought I was too young. But, she must have gotten over it because she ended up asking me out. It didn't take me long to know that I really wanted to marry her, even though she burns breadsticks.

But a wise man builds his house on rock.
Jesus is our Rock, upon Him we will build our home.
On January 31, 1998, Jamie proposed to Jennifer at Rotary Gardens, at this gazebo.
