| UTAH- The top JJC vid for 2003 is finished and is being released, after a time of despair due to the unreliability of the editing software. (Not to speak any names...[cough]Pinnacle Studio 8[cough]) Working with the newest version, many problems were found. With Studio 8 the Audio/Video sync has always been off from the beginning of editing JJC movies. This is more noticable in the 'reanimated' film Return of the Dead, but was debugged enough to look fine in the film James Bond: When Heck Freezes Over. At least the AV sync problem delivered no harm to the film because of the fact that it was a music video and the camera audio was muted anyway. However, as stated in the last issue of the FTI Update, the program later said that there was an error in the capturing of the film which had resulted in an unknown film bit rate that was unable to be rendered. (In other words, it wouldn't let the film be turned from the program into the windows video file.) And this was after all of the editing was finished! To resolve this problem, Jeff uninstalled Pinnacle and then reinstalled it. But instead of installing the newest version, he installed an earlier version. The program worked fine, and was then rendered onto an MPG file. However, when it came time to place on the internet, the version did not allow it for an unknown reason. After some delay, Jeff was able to resolve this issue as well. Now, with the film finally finished and uploaded onto the website (to view, go to www.JJCorporation.cjb.net/fromtheinside and click on View The Movie!) the JJC team is working on a better version of the film. Using Adobe After Effects, gunshots are being added to the cop [played by Luke Hollingsworth] shooting at the main character [Jake] from the mirror. Wounds are also being drawn up. It is unknown to this point whether the new version is to be uploaded, but that is to be decided later. As JJ Corporation, Inc. is now receiving a new 80GB hard drive via UPS within the next few days, more films are to be 'reanimated' and placed on the site. Jeff, annoyed beyond belief with Studio 8, is soon to be moving to Studio 9, the newest program out by Pinnacle. Unlike its predicessor, this program has very nice features including excellent AV Sync (Finally!) and a SteadyCam feature for shaky footage. It is very likely that Studio 9 will be the next editing software for JJCorp. |
