Along with Alyson (Willow) he is also one of the very first and longest supporting actor in Buffy The Vampire Slayer. From the beginning, Xander was a very good, if not, best friend with Willow. When Willow met Buffy, Xander went along with them. Throughout the beginning, Xander had a small crush on Buffy. But he got his own girlfriend to worry about now!
Xander is portrayed as an loser. To the 'Buffy and Company', he is usually the person who is most useless. Not the brightest nor strongest, Xander is just there. But he has proven his worth with his loyalty and friendship. Xander is an overall a great guy a girl could have, both as an friend and a boyfriend.
To the college seasons. Xander didn't change much throughout the show, though grown a bit more mature. Unlike Buffy or Willow, Xander does not go to college with them. Instead he lives in his parent's basement paying rents. He and Anya are now an item. Very in love with each other.
