Well, here is my life story if you are interested to hear it. I was born in Tainan, Taiwan on 1985. That was where I spend about 8 years of my life there. To me, I guess because I was so young, the life in Tainan was 'perfect'. School was fine, no one seemed to hate me, family was in a perfect shape, life was beautiful.
My life took a big turn, my parents told my sis and I that we are moving to the United States. I don't know how to react, I was too young, so I just went along with it. On February of 1994 we rode a plane to California. It seemed that my parents wanted us to enjoy the great places in the US before we actually get settled down. So here we were, living at my uncle's house.
We went to Disney Land, Universal Studio, and all the other places that I didn't even know what the heck were so special about it. And now, remembering back, I felt so bad that I didn't get to enjoy as much as I wanted to. Oh, and also during that time, I had a big weight loss (first and only time!). I don't know if it was because of the food or the difference of the environment, but I just cant eat much. I also had a pretty bad fever after we got back from Disney Land. It was not a pretty sight! Puke! But 2 weeks of vacation was over, time to settle down...
And now here we were, in Detroit Metro., Michigan. And here we settled for the 'other' half of my life. It was very hard on all of us. Non of us know much about English, only my mom. She only knows a little bit from watching American movies and that was about it. I didn't even know how to write any ABCs. So first couple of years hit my family hard (our 'great depression'). My father (loser) couldn't handle it and went back to Taiwan, leaving my mom taking the 2 of us. It was hard, but we got over it, and life for us was actually 'normal' and 'peaceful'. That didn't last, but I won't go through with the details.
