Postcard 2 to Thomas and Family Dear Thomas (and everyone in the Alipranti Family), After Istanbul, Mr. Mike and I flew to a small town in Turkey called Bodrum. Grandpa met us there. Then we went to an old castle built by the Crusaders. Your Mom or Dad can tell you more about the Crusaders. The first photo is us at the Castle. We also dressed up in costumes in the Castle �C that is the second photo. After the castle, we all got on a sailboat with other friends and went sailing for about one week. The boat was called "Adele." It is the boat in the middle of the third photo. If you look closely, you can see Grandpa standing at the back of the boat next to the American flag. We slept on the boat and ate on the boat. The captain of the boat is my friend from New York, Cengiz. His name starts with a "C" but it is pronounced like a "J", so like Jengiz, as in Cengiz Kahn. The fourth photo shows Cengiz pointing, probably at some rocks, as there were many rocks sticking out of the water that we had to avoid. We sailed to many places with pretty beaches, small towns and friendly people. Please share this email postcard with the rest of the family by reading it to them.
