OUR DIARY
Monday, November 1, 2004
We had notice of action from Immigration in early of September, 2004 for Jenny's adjustment of status interview, the interview date would be November 1. Then the day is today.

We went to Immigration office in Bloomington. And we came early and got interview earlier. We took an oath that what we spoke is nothing but truth. So the lady asked our id, for me passport, EAD cards, and James is his driver license. Then she started with me first. She asked me all the data she have such as my name, address, date of birth, mother's maiden name,
father's name. Then she asked me if I have ever gone outside US during this time, if I involved with any felony or crimes, if I have ever been separated with James. Then she asked us to tell how the process start from how we met till we got married. James explained to her. Then she said that the card will be approved either today or tomorrow because she need to see our petition of Fiance visa that the document was in downstairs. She said that we will get the card 5-6 days, the procedure has been changed. Normally it would take weeks.

She took my EAD cards and form I-94 because she said I didn't need since I will get the conditional greencard. That I can use for work and travel. But then I asked the EAD because tomorrow I will have job interview. She let me to have it, but she said once the card is in your hand, cut this card. You won't use it anymore.

She also explained that 2 years after the approval either today or tomorrow date. James and I need to get another interview to get permanent greencard. I need to fill the form 90 days before the date on the card.
And James asked the lady how to get US citizenship. She said it will take 3 years from the date of the card. I can get US citizenship. otherwise the permanent greencard ( 2nd greencard) will be valid for 10 years.

Fuih...one more step done, quick and easy as long as you are in the right track.
