October 1-3, 2004 Trip to Duluth
So we went out of town on Friday morning Oct 1, 2004. Along the way weather looks gloomy and when we still in Minneapolis rain falling a little. But it didn't make our trip became gloomy. Along the way most we heard from a radio about presidential election and what was happened and reviewed as the day before was debate between President Bush and the candidate from Democrat Senator Kerry.
Then we arrived at Duluth in the afternoon but before that we passed Superior, Wis, and we had our dinner at Hardees. The angus beef is always excellent. I order hot spicy chicken burger but I tasted James's beef burger. Yum yum yum...
We continue our trip to Duluth. And we reached Canal Park. Oo...a different place as I usually saw in here in Minneapolis or even other towns in Minnesota. This town is a harbor town. And also the contour of the ground is hilly. Warehouse are all around. And ships hmm....
We walked to the light house. And not many people there since that day was not a weekend and also the weather started to cold. Yes it was a cold day. And we have to go inside the museum near by to let our body temp raise again.
The museum, corps of engineers US army, is a good source for us to learn more about the history of this corps. That they helped people in water transportation but also about irrigation too. I was fascinating on how human could build a ship and it was really amazing.
Then we went ahead to Marcia, in Eveleth. We were suprised by her 2 dogs that so big but later we find very friendly. We spent the evening by talking about politics and what the prediction and also what is the best president that we hope to be. Marcia thought Donald Trump is the one, because he is good in financial..oo what a surprise. James always think George Bush do excellent job. It is interesting to see how they argue to each other. Then I looked at Marcia wedding album and we talked about family life.
We were continue our trip to Detroit Lakes, through Virginia and Cook. James showed me his parents old houses also his high school and college. We recorded our trip in video tape. Also James still remembered some places that he said either changed or still the same.
We stay over night at Maria, in Rochert. Sheyenne has been grown so fast. She is talking now. And make them clearly.
Maria shared the garden produces with me like cucumber, onion and carrot also squash. Not many for this year since the summer is colder than usual. But next year hopefully will be better.
Then we visited Leslie the next day in her new apt. Her kids were not home at that time. And we spent our noon at Mom, watching Nascar. And have a good conversation.
It is a really enjoyable trip.

We spent the night by going to theater in downtown Hopkins. Seeing movie, Shrek 2. Hmm...what a good movie that for anniversary. The difficulty for newleywed and their commitment and love conquer it. And they want to life happily ever after.
For this anniversary, I has made scrapbook and also included wishes from family and friends. I am glad that good responses I've gotten from them. Even not all the people that I sent an email get back to me.
