Title: Forever & a Day Category: Half Ben/Tess –half Jack/Jo Declaration: This is my first fic, so please don’t abuse me too much. The characters I have used do not belong to me, so please don’t sue me! Feedback?: You betcha! Scenario: Tess came to Mt Thomas 6 years ago. She and Ben have been seeing each other for 5 years. *Mt Thomas Station* “Hey, Benny-Boy, coming down to the pub?” PJ asks. “Yeah, sure mate, just give us 2 minutes to finish this” replies Ben. *The Imperial* 10 minutes later, Ben walks into the pub and goes straight to the bar to talk to Chris. All of his mates look rejected, and the ever faithful snoop Jo Parrish walks up to the counter and stand behind him to see what their talking about. Ben is showinhg her a beautiful engagement ring. “…so should I ask her, or just leave it?” Ben asks Chris. Chris then notices Jo, and asks her if it’s her round. Jo just stutters”…um, yeah C..C..Chris, I guess it..it is.” Ben turns around. “Hey, Jo, what’s the matter? You look really pale…you ok?” “Um, yeah, don’t worry, I’m fine. Chris, could you, ah, bring the drinks over to the table? Thanks.” She hurries back to the crowded table, and trips over a chair in the process. Ben asks Chris if she thinks Jo heard anything. Chris just relies that, judging by her re-action, she might have heard a bit of their conversation. When Jo gets back to the table, all of her colleagues pounce on her, trying to get some info. Jo is breathless…but she knows that she can’t really say anything with Tess there. So she simply states that she didn’t hear anything. The others notice something suspicious, but don’t ask any questions. Jo excuses herself to her room to ‘change into something warmer’. As soon as she goes, the others start chatting. “What was that all about?” asks Jack. “I really don’t know…she looked shocked and surprised. Has her ex been annoying her again?” Tom asks. Then Ben comes over to the crew, and they all shut up. “What are you up to, Ben?” asks Tess. “You really had Jo all upset, whatever you said to her! Are you seeing her as well?!” she joked. “Of course not!” snapped Ben. “Look, I’m sorry Tess, but where’d she go? I really need to talk to her.” So Ben goes up to Jo’s room and knocks softly. She opens the door, sees Ben, then simply says “I was just on my way down.” “That’s ok, they’re just chatting, can we talk?” Jo nods. Ben continues. “Good. As you probably guessed, I’m going to ask Tess to marry me.” Jo starts shaking and pushes past him and runs to the bathroom. Ben can hear her vomiting (charming!) and follows her. He yells “Jo, Jo, are you ok?” Meanwhile, the crowd downstairs hears someone running and then Ben shouting upstairs. The they hear a loud crash and some more yelling. The pub is now silent. Ben comes thundering down the stairs and asks Chris if there’s a key to the bathroom. Chris throws it to him and he races back up. He pauses, then asks Jack to come up too. The pair unlock the door to find Jo sprawled out on the tiles.

They rush to her side. Jo is still breathing; she simply feinted and blacked
out. Jack picks her up off the floor and carries her to her bed.

Jack says “She’ll be ok, just go back downstairs and tell everyone that it’s
ok…she’ll be fine.” Jo’s eyelids flutter open, and smiles when she sees that
Jack is leaning over her.
“Hi precious…you really had me scared there!” Jack comments. “Are you ok?”
“Sure” Jo replies “I whacked my head though…do you have any aspirin?” Jack
finds her some. “Let’s head back downstairs, hey?” she asks. Jack protests,
but he’s over ruled.

“That was quite a display upstairs Joanna” PJ laughs.
“Shut up!” she snaps.
“Quiet” Ben says. “This will sound like nothing after all of this excitement
tonight, but Tess, will you marry me?” There is silence.
“Definitely” replies Tess. There are hugs and handshakes all ‘round.

*1 week later at the station*
“Jack, can I talk to you please?” Jo asks him.
“Sure.” He smiles. They go into the interview room.
“Jack, I’m not going to beat around the bush. I’ve been sick every single
morning this week.”
“Oh, baby, I’m sorry honey.” Jack says…not knowing where she’s heading.
“I’ve also missed my period. I’m pregnant!”
“Wow. Are you sure?”
“Yep!”
“And it’s mine?”
“Wow” Jack repeats. “So…will you marry me then?”

The crew in the main office hears Jo cheering and Jack whooping.
“Are they having a party in there?” asks Tom. But then Jack and Jo burst out
of the room. “What’s up?” Tess asks.
Jo repies “Jack has asked me to marry him because I’m pregnant!” Silence…
Then there is a burst of ‘congratulations’.
Tom simply mutters “2 weddings announced in 1 station in 1 week. Great…”

Both Tess and Jo have asked Chris to help them with the planning, and since
the get along much better, they’ve decided to be each other’s bridesmaids
too. They both just want small weddings, but have decided to get married at
the same time. Tom will be Ben’s best man, and Jack asked PJ do be his,
because otherwise PJ was left out of everything.

*At the wedding reception*

The entire guest list has made their way to the imperial for a joint
reception too…to save money, and because they had a very similar guest list.
Ben is dancing with Tess, and Jack and Jo are dancing too. A few other
couples are out in the floor, including Tom and Chris.

Tom and Chris break apart, and Tom says that it’s time for the brides and
grooms to be going. Chris catches 1 bouquet, and Jo’s best friend from high
school catches the other.
The couples head out the door.

*4 nights later*
At the pub

Jack, Jo, Ben and Tess all walk in the door. PJ and Tom have been sitting at
a quiet table, but when they see them back, they move to a bigger one.

“So, Jo, where did you end up?”
“Jack took me to Hawaii…it was the best!” says Jo.
“Ben?” PJ asks.
“We went to Queensland. It was really good too. We waited for Jack and Jo at
the airport and got a taxi together to save money.”
“So how was work, boss?” asks Tess.
“Well, because 4 of our members were off honeymooning, we had to get 3
members from St David’s. They just left, but 1 of them is considering a
transfer here…says she hates it there.”
