My second best game in all time. In my opinion Squaresoft did better games in the past, and my opinion is not without reasons.

Seiken Densetsu 3 is a game of a wonderful fighting system, well it's called hack 'n slash RPG. So it's not any more complicated than that. Before you can start playing the game, you must choose a head character. I prefer Hawk who is a thief at the Navarre thieves guild. He is fast with his two knives. Then there is a knight named Duran, he has the ability of strenght. A wolf named Kevin, well he is a sort of beastman, man on the day, wolf at the night. He goes berserk in the night and can kick some butt. Then we have Angela, who is the greatest magician of these six. Lise is an amazoness who I think has high vitality, but I'm not quite sure. And the last one is Carlie, who is a very annoying girl, and I do not really know her abilities, since I do not wish to play with her.

As I already said, you must first choose a head character, and then two side characters, who will join you later. The head character will you play with in the beginning, afterwards when you get the rest you can switch between them as you like. The beginning of the story is based on which character you chose first. If you chose Hawk you will then see them plunder a town, and well, I think I leave the rest for you to find out for yourself.

Well, anyway this has a level system like most of the RPGs have, every time you got a level, you can choose between six different categories for you to grow. Strength, Agility, Vitality, Intelligence, Spirit and Luck. Usually if you don't want to make a magician, you'll better choose between the three first. Intelligence and Spirit is more for the magician and luck is for the roulette wheel from the chests, (play it and see what I mean).

When you have grown to the 18:th level, you can upgrade your character, for instance you can make Hawk either a Ninja or a Ranger, there are no visible difference between them except the look, but maybe after a while. You can uppgrade them a second time, but that requires a secret item, which is your's to seek.
