History Behind Modern Jive

Modern Jive began in France after the Second World War, where American GIs had introduced jitterbug and swing dancing. During the 80s it developed into a very modern unque style and since then its popularity has spread rapidly throughout Europe and the U.K. Australia has been enraptured by this exciting style of partner dance for the last 10 years.

Modern Jive is terrific fun, a great way to keep fit and it is also easy to learn. However at Jiveworks we believe that if you have had little or no experience in partner dancing, a bracket of six weekly lessons is recommended to ensure a firm understanding of this style of dance and its teaching procedures.

With this in mind, Jiveworks offer a Six Week Lesson Package for Beginners at only $36.00.

At Jiveworks we encourage students to ask questions and we strive towards providing a satisfying and very rewarding experience, which will invariably lead to a greater love of dancing.
