COOKIES

Cookie Sales orders were completed January 24th. Cookies will be delivered the weekend of February 5th-6th. I will call you to set-up a pickup time or you can pick your cookies up at the February 8th meeting. I would like to deposit money as you receive it, in order to keep any possibility of returned checks to a minimum - but all money is due to me no later that the 1st of March - PLEASE!! If you could get money to me about once a week that would be great!

MEETINGS AND BADGEWORK

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, February 8th, from 7pm - 9pm. We will discuss the amounts due from each scout for our future field trips after cookie sales. There will be homework due as listed on your individual badge pages on this website. The hope is that we can begin work on a clay project. I will also need to discuss some of the Hawaii trip info with you. I would also like to schedule us to do some dancing at The Blue Moon - Sunday night - February 20th, as well as schedule a day art shop walk and lunch in March. I believe March 13th or 19th would work - but please let me know your preferences at the meeting. We do have a family girl scout function on March 12th - but the 19th (Saturday) is the beginning of Spring Break so there may be conflicts. I would like to keep some of May open for a play, and the Jazz music we were interested in as part of our STARS Program.

FIELD TRIPS

February will be a VERY busy month - so be sure to mark your calendars!!!

We will be going to "The Film Critics Club", on Saturday, February 12th, from 1-6pm. Please be at the Leader's home at 12:15pm, and have parents pick you back up at Leader's home at 6:30pm. Please click here for a permission slip. More details about the field trip will be discussed at the February 8th meeting. This is for part of our STARS Program requirements.

We have a field trip on Monday, Februay 21st, from 9am-3:30pm. This is a visit to the State Capital along with a visit to an in-session Colorado Legislature meeting. The Interest Project badge we will be earning is "Law and Order", and troop funds have already paid for this field trip Please plan to be at my home no later than 8:15am, that morning! I will return scouts to their homes around 4pm that afternoon. Please plan on bringing a sack lunch and a drink. Please click here for a permission slip.

Elly and Lilly are registered for a special Interest Project workshop on Saturday, February 26th, from 9am to Noon. This workshop is for the "Car Sense" Interes Project. Both of you must attend with ONE parent! Because you will have a parent with you no permission slip is required. I will have directions and further information for you soon as council sends it out to me.

FUTURE EVENTS

We have a couple of events coming up in March so be sure to mark your calendars!!

On Sunday, March 3rd - we will be earning our "Creative Cooking" Interest Project - by attending a field trip called "Cooking with a Chef". It will be from 9am - 1pm on that day - so please hold this day open. We have already paid for this event!

On Saturday, March 12th the Unit will hold it's Girl Scout Sabbath event with a "Family Game Day". It will be from 12:30pm-4:30pm at the Northglenn Christian Church located at 105th and Irma. Cake will be served at 2:30pm that day. I would like to encourage all of our troop to attend with their families!

I am also trying to set-up an Art Exhibit shop day with lunch downtown on Sante Fe the month of March. We will discuss this further at the February 8th meeting.
