14 APRIL 2005 : BUDDY CLUB RACING SPEC COMPUTER A & CUSTOM COLD AIR INTAKE INSTALLED
Autotech installed a Buddy Club Racing Spec A Computer.
Made by Buddy Club Japan, who I think is no longer manufacturing this model. In essence, it's a piggyback fuel controller that interfaces with a laptop. Comes with its own software. It's a step from in-car piggybacks because of its higher resolution mapping set-up. Takes your Throttle position sensor, rpm values and other sensors to help you optimize fuel mapping. It also removes the speed limiter in certain engines including the 3SGE. It however, does not have ignition timing control unless you get the available option.
Also installed a custom cold air intake. Autotech ran a rubber duct tube to my driver side bumper. It ends with an HKS Super Power Flow element. Despite the disturbing posts I've been reading about its poor filtering performance, this air filter is definitely a step above my last Simota element. It consistently gives 3-5 hp or more even on a DYNO in local tests so I'm not gonna argue with that.
