he Masamune, the katana forged over 400 years ago by one of Jiro's ancestors. It has been in the Masamune family for all this time, and is said that the blade possesses holy power, and that nobody but a Masamune can wield this power. This power is said to come from each wielder of the blade, with each wielder's passing it grows stronger for the next. Jiro, was not next in line to recieve the Masamune. His oldest brother, Suzuchiro, was to take possession of the blade after their father, Kazuyuki. Unfortunately, all of Jiro's family were killed in the massacre of Samusa village, in the year: 1067 a.y. (Allusian Year), making Jiro the only living candidate worthy of the sword at the time.
owever, Jiro died in battle leaving no living heir to the sword. However, months after Jiro's death, Queen Karin Masaki gave birth to a son named Kazuki Masamune, the last of Masamune lineage. On Kazuki's thirteenth birthday, she gave him the Masamune. Ianko, taught Kazuki to use the katana, and the code of bushido.
