At the end of the eighteen months, Kenji decided to teach his two pupils his most powerful technique.
"Jiro, Flik come here!" yelled Kenji, interrupting the two young men's sparring session. "The time has come for you two to learn the Inoichi Nusumu skill." Flik looked at Kenji and asked, "Eeno-what?!" "Jiro turned to Flik and said, "Inoichi Nusumu, it means 'life stealer'." Kenji nodded to Jiro and said, "Correct, Jiro."
Minutes later, Kenji set up a practice dummy and began instructing Flik on how to perform the technique.
After Kenji finished with Flik, he taught Jiro, however, the instructions were different.
When Kenji was done teaching the two men, he yelled, "Now, perform the Inoichi Nusumu!!"
Jiro charged toward the dummy, while Flik ran to its left side. The two men finished with an upper slash from each of their swords. The two men stood there, both of their blades pointing to the heavens.
Suddenly, the dummy split into four. An "X" across its chest, splitting the head and chest, arms and lower body into separate pieces.
"Now, you two have mastered this technique, use it only as a last resort against a powerful enemy, my pupils."
"Yes, master Kenji!" replied both Flik and Jiro, while bowing.
Days later. . .
"Master Kenji, I think it is time that I moved on," Jiro told his teacher. "Yes, you are ready, there is little more I can teach you. To be honest, there wasnt much I could teach you when you first came to me, replied Kenji.
Later that day, after Jiro had packed his few belongings. "You're leaving, Jiro?!" asked Flik, with a surprised look. "Yes, I have to move on, Flik," answered Jiro. "I see, I wish you luck, Jiro!" exclaimed Flik. "You too, my friend. I hope we see each other again someday," retorted Jiro.
With that said, Jiro left on his search for other warriors to train under. He would do this for three more years.
Meanwhile . . .
Kenji walked to Flik as he watched Jiro leave and asked, "Flik, you do know that Jiro always held back against you, don't you?" Flik smirked and said, "Yes, I realized that a year ago," Flik then had a stern look on his face and asked, "What is it that drives him to fight so hard?" Kenji stood there, looking at Flik and laughed.
"What did I say that was so amusing, Master Kenji?" asked Flik, puzzled. "I know who you are, Prince Flik, so let's not delve into the pasts of others; until you, yourself are ready," answered Kenji. Flik looked at Kenji and asked, "How long have you known?" Kenji laughed, then exclaimed, "I've known the whole time!" Flik frowned, but Kenji quickly said, "Your secret is safe with me."
