Marischa has five brothers and one sister. They all live in Holland. Two of her bothers were working out at a local gym. Marischa decided she wanted to try it too and proved to be very talented.

Marischa's grandparents have direct roots in India, China, Holland, Africa and England. Marischa's full last name is Sjauw En Wa, which is Chinese.

Marischa is born in Surinam. Surinam is a former Dutch Colony. That explains how she ended up in Holland at the age of six. A lot of great athletes came from, or have roots is this country.
