Chapter 13 - Inside
Brian didn't know what he should think about the note. He had learned his lesson with Gunyan and he didn't know if he could trust that 'friend'. He read the note again.
You will find your friend Mical in the Huntling Building in the middle of Dol Guldur.
A Friend.
It sounded like the person REALLY wanted to help, but that was also how Gunyan had sounded�.
"Maybe it's a trick," says Brian.
Laughly looks very thoughtful. "I don't� believe that it's a trick. I mean� Moy would NEVER accept anything from somebody who wants to trick us. And look at him," she nods in Moy's direction, "he looks happy and is not afraid of something."
Brian takes a good look at Moy. Moy is lying on the ground and looks with his big innocent eyes from Laughly to Brian.
"It's only weird� that Moy doesn't want to tell us WHO gave him the note. Moy?" Laughly sits down next to him and starts to stroke him. "Sweetie? Can you tell us who gave you the note� please?"
"Frot? Frrrrrr�." Moy shakes his head "FROT"
Laughly stands up again. "I don't suppose that we get any answers from HIM."
"I think your right, but� I still don't trust it all� I haven't forgot what Gunyan did to me�"
"I understand your point, but I completely trust our little Winkle� although he don't want to tell us a name."
"Okay, I'll trust Moy� and I trust you, so�. What's the plan?"
Laughly and Brian tried both to be as normal as possible. They had left Moy in the forest and where now again in the middle of Dol Guldur.
"Second street left," whisper Laughly.
"Alright."
"Here it is."
Brian looked at another huge building, just the same as the one he went inside.
"It looks the same as that other one."
"It IS the same as that other one. Almost every building in Dol Guldur is the same. I have got no idea why they keep Mical in THIS building� its not special."
"I think we need to be extra careful."
"I think that's a brilliant idea."
The follow the lines of people inside. Again Brian is shocked by the look of the building inside. It's huge with a lot op people walking around.
"Okay, Sherlock we need to find Mical as quick as possible before somebody notices us," whispers Laughly.
"Lets go then and trust on our luck."
The walk towards the elevator and suddenly they hear a loud rumbling. They both stand still. Then the whole building changes right in front of their eyes. Suddenly the elevators are away and so are all the people, they see that the exit also away is. Behind their back, where a couple of seconds ago was windows and glass, there now is one solid wall with no windows. In front of them they only see some stairs and that's it. Then the rumbling stops and they hear no other sounds then their own beating of their harts. They both look scared at each other.
"What do we do now?" whispers Laughly terrified.
"I guess, the only thing we can do is go up to those stairs�," says Brian hesitating.
They grasp each other's hands and slowly walk towards the stairs, carefully listening if they don't hear a sound.
"It can't be a trick� Moy would have never taken the note from somebody he don't trust," whispers Laughly after a while. They have climbed already a lot of stairs and the only way they can take is up.
"I kinda miss the little fellow on this moment," whispers Brian back, "� I don't think that it was a trick either� maybe they just spotted us between those other people."
"Yeah."
Again they don't speak for a while. Then they suddenly see above the stairs a door and on the same moment they see the door the rumbling start again. The stair they stand on starts to move and Brian and Laughly are falling both on their knees. When the rumbling stops they both take a look at each other again.
"Okay, I don't care what behind that door is, but it must be better then here. This is really scary, Laugh," says Brian, not even caring that they where whispering before.
The door is still above them and the walk as quick as they can towards it. Before the door they both hesitate for a moment.
"Open it or not?" says Laughly.
Brian is silent for a moment. "I guess we better open it, before it decides to walk away again."
"Okay," and Laughly opens the door. They see a room before them with glass walls and so much light that their eyes need to get used to it first. They hear a soft mumble from a corner and they both step inside. When the door closes behind them it completely disappears in the wall, turning into glass too. They have a beautiful view over Dol Guldur and it almost looks like that the room is flying in the air. Their eyes are used to the light again and the first thing they see is Mical, who is lying tied up in a corner. Then they also notice the four Eru's who are standing beside him�

Chapter 14 � The Voice
Laughly turns quickly around and tries to find the door, but it has simply disappeared in the wall.
"That's no use, woman," says one of the Eru's, "only we can create a new door. You are much to weak for that."
"I'm stronger then you would ever believe," says Laughly proud. Then she turns to Brian, completely ignoring the Eru's. "Brian� I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I would have never let you go on your search to Mical� I just wanna say�," she fells silent and looks down, then she looks in his eyes again. "I just wanna say that when you can escape, just do it and DON'T come back for us� I'm sorry�" She turns away from him. Brian grasps her shoulders and makes her turn around, so that they look each other in the eyes.
"Don't start with that, sweetheart. It's not your fault at all, you are the one that saved me."
Laughly says nothing.
"Very sweet spoken of you, lakeman." The Eru says it as if it is something REALLY dirty. "You have to understand one thing, lakeman� you could have chosen the good way; we would have brought you simply to Nae and nothing else� now you have chosen the hard way and we are gonna have some fun with you." The Eru smiles evilly.
Brian simply can't move. The Eru's grab Laughly and throw her next to Mical, who looks very sadly. One Eru grasps Laughly and don't let her go anymore. The other three Eru's surround Brian. Brian is standing with his back against the wall and he knows that he can't escape them. Terrified he looks at the dark faces of the Eru's.
One of the laughs very evilly. "Lakeman, let me introduce you to the terror of the Eru."The other two stand on each side of Brian and just keep him stand still, their hands like claws in his upper arms. The first one, obviously their leader, steps forward and stand in front of Brian staring right in his eyes.
"Leave him alone!" screams Laughly from behind.
"Keep her silent!" growls the leader. The one of the two, who keeps Laughly, simply slaps her in her face and whispers something in her ear, leaving her terrified, with big eyes.
"Alright Lakeman, let's have some fun with you." Slowly the leader shows Brian a long, slender, blank sword and holds it teasingly in front of Brian's face. Brian tries to look bravely back, but he can't avoid to shiver a bit.
"You can do very funny things with this sword. I even named it. Its called Ayla. Nice name isn't it?"
Brian stills says nothing. He has decided not to trust his voice.
"Ayla always listens very good to me and has fun to torture her victims very painfully�"
The top of the sword slowly moves downwards, to the place of Brian's stomach.
"Did you knew that when you stab somebody on this place," he softly pushes the sword on Brian's stomach, "and you don't do it very deeply, the person who is stabbed has got very much pain� AND is not going to die, so that you can have much more fun�. I don't think you knew that. We find out� we have got a lot of test material before you� stupid people from the lake." The last sentences had the leader whispered in Brian's ear. "Let's see how you react," the leader says with a smile.
Just before leader stabs him, Brian hears a voice inside his head and he feels nothing anymore. It's the voice of Herbert, the crazy person that already had saved him from the Anslyns.
- Your in troubles again, young man. You better be careful, 'cause I'm not ALWAYS there, you know.
Laughly and Mical both look surprised at Brian. Instead of a scream of pain or a painful face, they look at a face that shows amazement.
- Okay, you hasty young man, just THINK what you want to ask me and I will answer you. First listen. This room where you are in is NOT REAL. It's all an illusion. The only thing that isn't an illusion are you, that pretty girl and her friend and those four Eru's. Understand?
"Ye�", starts Brian to say.
- I told you not to speak! Think! You CAN think, don't you young man?
<Sorry, I forgot. >
- Okay. I shall tell you how you can escape. Those Eru's are right now pretty pissed because you don't react on their torture. When I'm finished talking to you, you just stand up and they will not be able to stop you. You grab that young lady and her friend and simply jump through that window.
<But that's so high! I'm afraid of heights. >
- Remember that it's all an illusion. Keep that in your mind and simply jump�. Ready?
<I guess.>
- Okay, success young man.
Brian felt somehow that Herbert had 'left'. He simply started to walk, leaving the Eru's behind him, totally confused. Brian looked like he was in some kind of trance and he grasped Laughly's hand and together they grasped Mical.
"Laugh� just trust me and jump with me."
Laughly looked at him like he was crazy.
"Herbert." He whispered in her ear. Her eyes grow bigger, but she walks towards the window. With one last look at each other they jump through the window, with Mical in-between them. The time seems to go slower as they fall and keep on falling. The are falling into darkness and that's all they know after a couple of seconds�
