Chapter 4 - Explanation
Brian is sitting in a little, but pleasant house. From the outside it looks like a normal house, but inside it's filled with all kind of colors and with weird objects. He looks at the girl who is sitting in front of him. Long brown hair and simple grey clothes. She wore a chain around her neck with a sign on it: it was an eye with some decoration. He had already noted that she had the same sign tattooed on her right wrist. Laughly noticed that Brian looked at here chain.
"That's my sign, I designed it. I always wear it� it's like a mascot for me."
Brian nipped at the drink she had given to him. It didn't was something that he knew, but it tasted good and it gave him some of his strength back.
"I shall try to explain everything to you. I hope that you will understand it�. This world is different from yours. This world is called Lythari. Here are also living humans, just like on earth. Our leader is Andodulin. He is the king of Lythari, but not the most powerful man. His servants are called Eru's. You really need to look out for them, 'cause they are very dangerous. They hunt on everybody who come trough the door. When they get you, escape is almost impossible. They bring their prisoner to another door then we are looking for. They are brought to the door of death�. You came here trough the door between your world and mine. You cannot go back trough that door, then you would certainly drown."
"Is that lake the door?"
"Yes, when you came in the lake you went through the door. When you were drowned you would be go straight ahead to the death. Not so many escape from the lake. You were very lucky, only�" despaired look "� there are not so many who find the door back�."
"What happens when one of those Eru's get you?"
"They take you to Nae, a place in the South of Lythari. There is the door to death. Eru's are very heartless creatures they aren't human. They maltreat the people they capture and the prisoners are already almost death and mutilated before they get trough the door of death."
"So� I need to look out for those Eru's and I need to find that other door?"
"Yes, but nobody knows where that door is. I also don't know that. But our faith seems to be bounded with each other." Her look wanders. "Long ago I walked next to the Nosta Lake and somebody escaped from it, just like you. I decided to help him. His name was Peter. We came to Dol Guldur, but then�."
"Dol Guldur?"
"Yes, that's a big city in Lythari� We came to Dol Guldur, but then the Eru's found him. Since that time I'm waiting for somebody to help again. You're the first since that time."
Brian looks at here. It seems better for him to not ask any questions. Then a smile appears again on her face.
"Do you know why people call me Laughly?"
"Isn't that your real name?"
"No, I forgot my real name a long time ago. People call me Laughly, because they say that I'm lovely and I always laugh. I'm a very positive person, although it's sometimes very hard to stay that way�."
Her look wanders again "After Peter was imprisoned everybody thought that I also should die, the Eru's had attacked me and I was terrible injured: inside and outside. But I've got a very strong will and I survived� but anywayz I better go back to my explanation. Do you understand it a little bit?"
"I need to find a door and look out for Eru's, I understand that now. I only don't understand how I get here?"
"What was the last thing you remember, before you 'woke up' in the lake?"
"The last thing I remember? That was that I was driving in my car and I was on my way to Kevin's house and then�" Brian's eyes get bigger "OMG I had an accident! Is that how I came here?"
Laughly smiles "You remember it again, that's a good point. I'll try to explain. You were in your own world involved in an accident. I don't know any details about that accident so I can't help you with that. Only people who are getting in a coma and who have a very little change to survive can take the way to Lythari."
"So that means�"
"That you are in your world in a coma�"
"I think I get it� I wake up when I go trough that door?"
Big smile "Indeed�"
"Another question� you said that you had forgotten your real name a long time ago� how old are you then?"
"In Lythari is time slower than in your world. If you aren't prisoned for violation or die by an accident, you get, on average in your world, 2134 years old. I am, in your world, 426 years old, but here I'm simply 17."
"Do you know a lot about� about my world?"
"Yes, but it's kinda strange. We learned a lot about your world from the people of the lake, but you don't know anything about mine. We think that the lucky person who find the door is not believed in your world."
"About those Eru� things. Are they dangerous for you too?"
Laughly nods "Yes, I shall tell you something more about them. Eru's are the servants of our king Andodulin. But they are much more feared then he is. They hunt every person who escapes the lake. When they get that person, they do terrible things to him, before he's taken to Nae. They also take care that the rules of our world are respected and not broken. When you break the rules you can be terrible punished. The worst punishment is that they bring you to Nae. It's also forbidden to help people from the lake, like you."
"People from the lake?"
"Yes, people who escape from the lake are called like that."
"Al right� you have helped someone already, have you?
She nods. "Indeed and I've been terrible punished and I almost died by that punishment. When they get me this time, they possibly bring me to Nae�"
Brian stands up. "Then I don't want your help. I don't want to get you into trouble."
Laughly looks up. "I won't let you go."
"But�"
"No but�. First of all, you won't survive one single day here, without my help. And second, I promised�" Tears come into her eyes.
"Laugh, what's going on?" Brian tries to comfort her. "To who did you promised?"
Laughly sighs "I live my entire live here, near the lake. It happened that one of the people from the lake came to us and asked for help. My parents always helped them. But a couple of years ago� my parents where prisoned and taken by the Eru's to Nae�"
"Ow, sweetheart, I'm so sorry about that."
Laughly starts to smile again. "That's not your fault, crazy person. I always promised them to help everyone from the lake. So I help you� if you want it or not." She gives him a determined look.
Brian sighs and a laugh appears on his face. "I think I can't escape you, so�"
"As long as you understand that�"
"Okay, so what are we going to do?"
"I think the best thing we can do is go to Dol Guldur, to my best friend Mical. He's as crazy as I am and he shall help us. He knows a lot of secret ways and maybe he has got an idea where that door is. Dol Guldur is two days from here, so I think it's better when we go sleeping today, 'cause it's already very late."
"I think that's a good idea�"
"Than I shall show you your bed."
