Digimon Adventure 01:
 

Full Name: Japanese: Ishida Yamato North America: Matt Ishida Age: 11-12 Crest: Friendship Colour: Blue Digimon Companion: Baby-Punimon In Training-Tsunomon(horn) Rookie-Gabumon Champion-Garurumon Ultimate-WereGarurumon Mega-MetalGarurumon Ultimate/Mega-Omnimon Favorite Style: Throughout the entire season, Matt wears a forest green sweater and baggy rolled up blue jeans.  He also wears hiking boots and greyish brown gloves.  His blonde hair is filled with gel so it stays really spikey parted at the side.  Matt has dark (almost navy) blue eyes. School:  Odaiba Elementary Grade 5 Musical Talent: Besides Mimi, Matt is the only other Destined with any musical talent, he plays the Harmonica.  He usually plays the blues and every once and a while puts TK to sleep with its music.

Family: Matt's family consists of his brother, TK (Takeru) Takaishi who lives with his mom, Nancy.  Matt lives with his Dad.  In the Japanese version, TK and Matt are full brothers but in the North American version, Matt and TK are half brothers because TK's mom acquired her maiden name after divorcing Matt's dad. Description: In the begining of the season, Matt is an overprotective rebel for a boy.  He doesn't want to follow any orders from Tai while they are in the Digital World because he doesn't believe that Tai deserves the right to be leader.  In the Digital World, Matt takes a direct respect toward his Digimon partner but is surprised each time he Digivolves into another character.  During the season, Matt becomes hostile toward the 'togetherness' of the entire group and calls a time out for himself.  In the end, he recalls his crest of friendship and reunites with the rest of the group. What we know throughtout the entire adventure is that he really cares for his brother and so protects him with his own life.

Digimon Adventure 02:
 

Age: 14-15 Favorite Style: As you can see, Matt didn't change too much from first to second season in his appearance.  He's toned down his hair style still allowing it to be parted on the right side.  What you mostly see him wear is his School uniform, the first button of his white shirt undone with his green jacket neatly buttoned up.  Finishing him off are his gray uniform pants and his brown shoes. School: Odaiba High School Grade 9-10 Musical Talent: Having discarded his harmonica, he's gone for something a little more popular.  He has joined a band consisting of two other male members.  Matt plays the base guitar and has taken up vocals.  His feature song in America is "Turn Around"

Family: Matt still lives with his Dad (and TK still lives with his Mom) but in 02, TK lives slighly closer so they can visit each other more often. Description: Along with his physical appearance, Matt has also slightly changed mentally and emotionally.  He doesn't show as much rebellion in the group as when he was younger.  You don't see it very often.  He believes in true freindship and has made great friends with Tai.  Even though Matt doesn't see Gabumon all that much, he still visits him once and a while in the Digital World, even if he has grown up quite a bit.  Being in a band makes him quite popular publically.  His number one fan (and stalker) is Jun Motamiya (Davis' older sister).  Jun gives Matt a little comic releaf because she will do anything just to be near him.
