Vogue Savvy
HomePage
I'd like to personally welcome you my page, Vogue Savvy. You, my dears, can refer to me as Liv, or the writer for "that fashion page," or...well, you can think of something.
This page will be strictly dedicated to keeping you up-to-date with the latest in fashion and such. Okay, so I may, once in a while go off on a rampage, or vent a little or something like that, but hey, it's understandable, right?
Any suggestions and/or constructive criticism is completely welcome, as long as you're respectful.
My main goal here is to please you, my audience, the people who will keep this site going, make our counter go through the ro
of. You're the people that people like myself depend on to "make it happen." So, don't be afraid to tell your friends about our site. We'd love the "coverage."
Douzten Kroes.
Douzten Kroes, (Doubt-zin, not Doot-zen) is from Holland, and is slowly becoming the next best thing. Soon, you'll be seeing this face everywhere, and people are going to be like, Who is that? That's when you can proudly chime in, Oh, you don't know her? My gawd, she's been around for what? Ever. Douzten Kroes. Everyone will want to know how you knew that and blah, blah, blah. Okay, well, back to the important stuff...
She's got a hint of sarcasm in her affectionous voice that makes it almost angelic. Douzten has said to remind people a softer, prettier (if possible) version of Angelina Jolie, but what is most striking about her is not just her beauty, but her brains. She can easily turn a simple interview into a interesting conversation, one that seems it could last forever. Soon, into conversation with Johnathan Van Meter, interviewer for Vogue, her life story begins to unfold.
It seems our cover girl was born in a rural part of northern Holland, and her parents met while both competeting in a speed-skating match. Talk about talent in the family! Douzten has a younger sister, who loved riding horses, speed skating, and building tree houses.
This girls got alot more than just beauty, like I've said before. She's got a good head on her shoulders, a role model for girls everywhere.
"Compared with all the other girls, I have big thighs. But I am very happy with my body, and if they don't like me, too bad. I represent the woman."
Exactly. Absolutely the best thing that can be heard from a model these days. She isn't into the whole skinny craze, she's about being herself. Her start? Well, it wasn't that typical. She really needed the money, so she sent pictures of herself into an agency in  Amsterdam, and was soon booked to appear in Italian Vogue. She doesn't, however, like to refer to herself as working as a model, but more a worker in the fashion industry. Many people could only hope to discover someone like Douzten, but sadly, she's already been discovered and is definitely going to make it big.
Keep her in mind next time you see that L'Oreal commercial, cause you know that you're friends are going to hate you for knowing first. And you, of course, can just bask in the glory.

Girls, Girls, Girls
Summer is coming up. Okay, by the looks of the weather, it's here. So, a couple hints for this summer? Cover up with a tunic, or short shorts, but cover up. No one, and I mean no one, wants you to bare something that not supposed to be bared...to anyone. Especially, not in public. So, while sun bathing or what not, go to the little food bar with a cute tank, and don't over expose yourself!
Looks Like Summer.
Feels Like Summer.
So, SPF it up, and protect yourself!
What could be better than baring that just-back-from vacation bronze that everyone else ah-dores? Well, one that you can have all year around without the fear of wrinkles and cancer. Well, "a" because you're too young to care about wrinkles, and "b" because skin cancer is serious, and alot more common than people might think.
Skin cancer can occur to anyone who spends alot of time in the sun, has light-colored skin, hair, and eyes, has a family member with skin cancer, or who is over the age of 50. So, what's stopping you from putting on that SPF?
"But I won't get as dark..."
Whine. Whine. Whine.
Let's get our priorities straight, please. Skin cancer or getting a little less color? Um, I'll take the second choice, please, and I would hope you do, too.
Skin cancer has increased in the past years, and many more people are prone to it. So, protect yourself! Wear
at least an SPF 15 on your face everyday, and at least a 15-20 SPF for medium to dark colored skin, or 30 for light-colored skin.
Protect yourself and don't regret not putting on a little more sun protection!
